At an EGM of the full council on 27 Oct 2017, it was announced that a further restricted Regulation 19 consultation on the proposed Guildford Local Plan will take place in 2017, delaying the plan process by a further 10 months.

At the press briefing, the council leader suggested that "it will be a very different consultation from this year's" and that changes are "likely to be very substantial but we cannot discuss the detail at this stage"; the changes might include "possible" removal of strategic sites from the draft Local Plan [GBC Press Release]

Changes to the draft Local Plan will be published in March 2017, put through the Committee process, before release for public comment over 6 weeks in June/July 2017.
